Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026 · Applies to Distractless for iPhone and Mac.
In short: Distractless collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your device
Your blocked apps and websites, schedules, focus sessions, passes, settings and the counts shown in the app are stored on your device only.
Screen Time (iPhone)
On iPhone, Distractless uses Apple's Screen Time framework, with your permission, to block the apps and websites you choose. Apps and sites you pick are given to the app as opaque tokens; Distractless cannot see their names unless iOS shows them. Your usage statistics — pickups, screen time, most-used apps and websites — are displayed by an Apple-sandboxed report that the app itself cannot read, store or send anywhere.
Network filter (Mac)
On Mac, Distractless uses a content filter, with your permission, to block the websites and apps you choose. It looks only at which site each connection is going to, to decide whether to block it. It never reads page contents or traffic, keeps no browsing history, and sends nothing anywhere. To show your progress, the Mac app counts which app is in front and how often it is opened; these counts stay on your Mac and are deleted after 60 days.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you turn on sync, your settings, blocks, schedules and focus sessions are kept in step between your devices through your own private iCloud database. That data belongs to your Apple Account; we cannot access it. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings.
Children
Distractless does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
